Overview

Hitting level 255 does not end Project Slayers 2, because the endgame is built around dungeons, reforged weapons and repeated boss kills rather than a final quest. This page covers the dungeon unlock, the Nightfall weapon line, the build pieces that matter at max level, and the loop that keeps paying after your leveling route is finished.

Dungeon unlock:Level 65
Dungeon entrance:Below Hidden Mist Village
Dungeon rewards:Mastery, equipment and crafting materials
Top weapon line:Nightfall, upgraded by forging
Level cap:255

Inside the Dungeon

The dungeon guide below shows the unlock route under Hidden Mist Village and the wave structure you will be clearing for most of the late game. Watch it before your first run so you know where the entrance sits and how the reward screens work, then read the dungeon hub for the surrounding map notes.

Unlocking and Running Dungeons

Dungeons open at level 65 and become the backbone of your mid to late game, so the unlock is worth planning around rather than stumbling into. Head to Hidden Mist Village, drop underneath it and find the blacksmith, then take the second forge option to start the dungeon route. The locations hub explains how the named areas connect.

Inside a run, grouping enemies for area attacks is what separates a deep clear from a short one. Build your card bonuses before the milestone bosses, survive the wave you are on, and spend the points you earn on mastery, equipment and crafting materials in that order. The mastery and Wen guide covers why those upgrades compound.

1

Reach level 65

The dungeon is gated behind level 65, so finish the quest chains that bridge the gap first.

2

Travel to Hidden Mist Village

Head to the village and go underneath it to reach the blacksmith who handles the dungeon route.

3

Take the second forge option

The blacksmith dialogue includes a separate forge path; the second option is the one that opens dungeon access.

4

Group enemies for area damage

Pull packs together so your area attacks hit everything at once instead of trading hits one enemy at a time.

5

Build card bonuses early

Stack your card bonuses before the milestone bosses so the later floors are survivable rather than a coin flip.

6

Spend points on progression

Put dungeon points into mastery, equipment and crafting materials, which all feed back into the next run.

Gear affects how many dungeon points you earn, so a preparation run with weaker equipment is rarely a waste if it upgrades your next clear.

Endgame Progress Loop

At max level the game settles into a repeating loop rather than a linear route. Dungeons supply materials and points, forging converts them into stronger weapons, and those weapons make the boss circuit and deeper floors faster. The boss hub lists the named encounters that sit at the top of that loop.

The table below shows where each activity fits. If a run stalls, the answer is usually one tier back rather than more attempts at the same wall, so check what the previous stage still owes you before you queue again. That habit is the whole difference between a slow progression and a fast one.

ActivityUnlock or gateWhat it gives you
Dungeon runsLevel 65, Hidden Mist VillageMastery, equipment, crafting materials, points
Nightfall forgingSchematics and forging materialsHigh-tier Nichirin weapons that upgrade further
Boss circuitRegion access and group sizeRare katana drops and gear pieces

Max-level buildsMastery plus skill treeDamage and survivability for deeper floors
Boss weapon drops sit at roughly a 5% rate, so plan repeated attempts instead of expecting a single lucky kill.

What Actually Changes at Max Level

The honest answer is that your character level stops being the bottleneck and mastery takes over. The moveset you finish at 255 is only as complete as the hours you spent using the weapon, so the endgame's first task is usually closing that gap rather than chasing new gear. Builds that ignore mastery plateau quickly against late bosses.

Nightfall weapons are the other half of the endgame. They form the high-tier Nichirin line, arrive through schematics and materials rather than shop purchases, and keep improving through forging upgrades, which is why the smith stays relevant long after Final Selection. Compare each upgrade against the same test target instead of trusting a bigger number on paper.

Finally, the endgame is where the two paths diverge hardest. Slayers lean on their breathing style and forged katanas, while demons build around Blood Demon Arts and a separate progression track, and a demon conversion changes the entire shape of your late-game loadout.

Max-Level Priorities

Four things matter once the level bar is full, and none of them are optional if you want to clear the deeper dungeon floors. The order you tackle them depends on what your build is missing, but leaving one untouched shows up as a wall a few floors later. New players should read the beginner guide first.

Finish the Moveset

Mastery unlocks the rest of your style, so keep using one weapon until the tree is done.

Chase Nightfall

The Nightfall line is the top Nichirin tier, and schematics plus forging keep it scaling.

Build to Survive

Deep dungeon floors punish pure damage builds, so invest in block and defensive skill tree nodes.

Farm Bosses

Named bosses drop the strongest katanas, and repeated kills are the only reliable way to get them.

Deep floors reward group runs over solo attempts until your gear catches up, so use the party finder before you blame your build.

Endgame Checklist

Run this list whenever progress feels stuck. It covers the systems that quietly cap your output, and it is short enough to check between dungeon attempts. Most stalled accounts are missing one of these rather than needing a completely new build, and the breathing tier list helps if the style itself is the problem.

Keep the list current as you upgrade. A checklist item you finished last week can quietly regress when you swap a weapon or respec a skill tree, and late content is unforgiving about small gaps in your map knowledge and gear at the same time.

  • Mastery tree finished for your main weapon
  • Nightfall schematic unlocked and forging materials banked
  • Defensive skill tree nodes taken before pushing deeper
  • Consumables and Bandages stocked for repeated attempts
FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What level do dungeons unlock?

Dungeons open at level 65. Head to Hidden Mist Village, go underneath it, and take the second forge option with the blacksmith.

What is the best endgame weapon line?

Nightfall weapons are the high-tier Nichirin line. They arrive through schematics and materials, then keep improving through forging upgrades at the smith.

Should I run dungeons solo or in a group?

Solo runs are possible with strong gear, but deep floors are far more consistent in a group until your mastery and defensive nodes are finished.

Do dungeon points matter after max level?

Yes. Dungeon points convert into mastery, equipment and crafting materials, which feed directly into your next clear and the boss circuit.

How do I get boss weapon drops?

Farm the named bosses repeatedly. Their katana drops sit around a 5% rate, so multiple attempts are expected rather than one lucky kill.

Is max level 255 the real end of progression?

No. Character level caps at 255, but weapon mastery, Nightfall forging and dungeon depth all continue long past that point.

Does becoming a demon change the endgame?

Yes. Demon conversion swaps your kit to Blood Demon Arts and a separate progression track, which changes your late-game build entirely.
