Overview

Zentaro carries the Thunder King title for good reason. He is the Thunder Breathing trainer and a weapon boss in the same encounter, sitting high on the mountain route near Windy Peak, on a plateau that guides also place within the Verdant Cliffs area. Reaching him at all is the first test.

Thunder is described as one of the strongest duelling styles in the launch build, with a gap-closer that breaks guard on contact, so the training is worth the climb. The same encounter drops the Thunder Katana at 5%, which is why players farm him long after the style is unlocked.

Climbing to the Thunder King

Start from Windy Peak and head uphill rather than out toward the coast. The trainer sits on an elevated platform along the mountain route, and the approach is described as similar terrain to the cliffs used for the other high trainers. Wall Climb is treated as essential, so unlock it before you attempt the ascent.

The location is also given as below the Obanai encounter on the Hidden Mist side, which is a useful second bearing if the mountain path is not obvious. Whichever approach you take, the climb is the reason so many players reach level 25 without ever unlocking Thunder.

Unlike a hidden wall, Zentaro is not concealed, only elevated. The difficulty is entirely vertical. Bring a mount only if the route allows it, and expect to walk the final stretch on foot where the ground narrows. Falling is the most common reason for a second attempt.

Unlocking Thunder Breathing

Work through the steps in order, because the equipment gate blocks the training entirely. If you arrive with the level and the movement ability but no axe and mace, Zentaro will not start the chain, and the climb becomes a wasted trip.

The final training objective is a fight rather than a fetch task, so keep your stamina and a backup blade ready. Once the chain clears, Thunder Breathing becomes available and the style's gap-closer can be levelled through normal combat, which is where the mastery grind begins.

Farming the Thunder Katana

Once Thunder Breathing is unlocked, Zentaro becomes a straightforward repeat farm. The 5% katana is one of eight named boss weapons, and it is the base blade that later work feeds into, so duplicates are not wasted even after you have your first copy.

Clear speed is the only variable you control. There is no published pity system, so the realistic plan is to settle into a short loop, bank the Wen you pick up on the way and stop when the drop lands rather than grinding past the point of usefulness.
